My expertise in the field of shellfish aquaculture is supported by my 35 years experience in the commercial fishing and aquaculture industry. My knowledge of environmental and political issues, and my understanding of the effects of tide, wind, runoff and algae growth on beach and deepwater sites will be valuable in helping you establish a successful tenure. As a shellfish farmer I have both beach and deepwater tenure with many types of growout systems in operation that have proven themselves successful. On our farm we grow, manila, little neck and varnish clams, pacific and kumamoto oysters, diploid and triploid cultch oysters, gallos and edulis mussels, geoducks and scallops. My recommendations on beach layout, seed boosting programs and grow out methods are all designed for high production at low cost and low maintenance.
